HB 97: REGULATORY TAKINGS - LOCAL GOVERNMENT- 1998 Budget/Special Session

Sponsor: Joint Agriculture, Public Lands & Water Resources Interim Committee

In what has become an annual legislative rite, the Joint Agriculture, Public Lands & Water Resources Interim Committee sponsored HB 97, a regulatory takings bill.

HB 97 was exactly the same as HB 120 in 1997 (described above).

Proponents and opponents used the same arguments as in years past, and HB 97 failed to get the two-thirds vote needed to introduce a non-budget bill in a budget session,

20-39 (1 excused).

The vote listed below is the House vote to introduce HB 97.

A YES vote means the legislator wished to consider a "regulatory takings" bill.

A NO vote means the legislator did not wish to consider a "regulatory takings" bill.
