SJ 2: Funding for Tribal Entities
2006 Budget Session
Sponsor: Select Committee on Tribal Relations
SJ 2 proposed an amendment to the Wyoming Constitution that would have allowed the state to make appropriations to the business council of the Eastern Shoshone Indian Tribe, the business council of the Northern Arapaho Indian Tribe, or the joint business council of both tribes, to pay for government services to citizens of Wyoming who are also members of the Eastern Shoshone Indian Tribe or the Northern Arapaho Tribe.
If passed by the Legislature, the proposed constitutional amendment would have been placed on the 2006 general election ballot.
The Senate passed SJ 2 unanimously, but the House Committee of the Whole did not vote on SJ 2 before the deadline for action, so the bill failed.
