SF 145: State-Tribal Liaison
2003 General Session
Sponsor: Select Committee On Tribal Relations
SF 145 authorized the Governor to employ a person as a tribal liaison, to assist and advise the Governor on state-tribal relations. The liaison specifically would help coordinate programs and other activities between the state and tribal governments.
The new liaison position was funded with an appropriation of $50,000 from the general fund, which will be matched with an equal amount from the Joint Business Council of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Indian tribes.
SF 145 passed the Senate 29-1, with Senator Gerald Geis (R-S20, Worland) casting the only NO vote. The bill passed the House unanimously.
