2005 General Session Information
On Tuesday, January 11, the 58th Wyoming
State Legislature convened for the 2005 General Session. While a General
Session is permitted to last up to 40 days, this year the Legislature completed
its work in a 37-day session and adjourned on March 3.
Again this year, the ESPC provided its
2005 edition of the daily, online LAP* Book that included Daily 2005 Session
Reports and Votes on Key Legislation, accessible through the link to the
left of this page.
Votes on key legislation gave detailed
information on the bills the ESPC and its member groups believed were the
most important legislation of the 2005 General Session. Detailed descriptions
of each bill of interest included an explanation of its intent, who sponsored
it, and committee and floor votes in both chambers with voting charts showing
how each legislator voted on the bill.
The 2005 Session LAP* Book also links
to Legislator Profiles and Campaign Contributions, which provides information
on legislators and how they financed their most recent campaigns for election.
A vital component of Wyoming's legislative
process is interim committee meetings, which occur throughout the year
between legislative sessions. Much work is done during the interim committee
meetings each year to prepare for the next year's legislative session.
