HB 99: Hathaway Scholarship Program Sponsor: Joint Education Interim Committee HB 99 expanded the Hathaway scholarship program to graduate and professional degrees and extended the time students can attend post secondary educational institutions. Before, students were eligible for Hathaway scholarships for six years after their initial eligibility. HB 99 extended that limit to ten years, if the student has received an associate degree of applied science, has been working in applied science, and has returned to the University of Wyoming to pursue a baccalaureate of applied science. HB 99 clarified how to handle scholarships when a student attends more than one eligible school whereby the student will designate a home school that will be paid the entire scholarship amount granted to the student. HB 99 sailed through the Legislature, passing every vote unanimously. |
