Executive Branch officials, many whom are appointed by the Governor and some confirmed by the State Senate, including state agency directors and members of state boards and commissions, do much of the work of the Executive Branch of Wyoming State Government. Many of Wyoming's state agencies and boards and commissions are comprised of people who have vested business interests in the outcomes of their decisions. Examples are industry domination of Wyoming's Environmental Quality Council and its Advisory Boards, the Game and Fish Commission, the Occupational Health and Safety Commission and the Unemployment Insurance Commission. Without the involvement of the public and citizens and organizations advocating the public interest, year-round paid lobbyists for corporate interests are the primary determinant of which people advance to nomination and ultimately serve in many of the key positions in the Executive Branch of state government.
All the citizens of Wyoming have an interest in who the people that are appointed to
serve in important Executive Branch positions in state government. The ESPC
encourages participation by a broad range of Wyoming citizens on state government
Boards and Commissions. The ESPC encourages citizens to seek nomination for
executive appointments of interest, and to nominate and support other citizens as
candidates for executive appointment.
